Despite lacking the biggest names in the scene, Copenhagen Games has not been short of upsets, the first of which came courtesy of ENCE, who went out bottom of their group following back-to-back defeats against Swedish duo Publiclir.se and Plantronics.
Space Soldiers got off on the wrong foot in the main tournament, losing to HellRaisers 16-6, but they proved their doubters wrong and breezed past RCTIC and Iwku to finish second in their group. Paired with SK Gaming in the quarter-finals, the Turkish team were humbled on the first map (1-16), only to complete a reverse sweep on the back of a phenomenal display from star member Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş, who posted a 1.52 rating.
oskar's HellRaisers to face Publiclir in the semi-finals
Copenhagen Games will continue on Saturday with only four teams remaining, none of whom flying Denmark's flag. dignitas and Preparation forced E-frag.net and HellRaisers, respectively, to a third map in the quarter-finals but ultimately fell short, while Copenhagen Wolves were defeated by Publiclir.se without picking up a map.
